German Shepherd Puppies and German Shepherd Dogs rehomed across the UK. Help and Advice on All Aspects of Owning a GSD
Charlie (black) and Alfie were raised as brothers, and now, at 2 years old they have found themselves on the verge of being homeless.
Their human father was murdered by a close relative and their mother is now practically forced out of the country with absolutely no means to take them with her, and even if she did, no means to provide a good life for them.
Now here’s the thing, these beautiful young boys have lost their dad, now they will lose their mom and their home but what we will try hard not to allow is for them to lose each other too. They are so bonded so we are hoping that Alfie and Charlie will be adopted together, to a home that knows and loves the breed. It would be tragic if these two boys had to be split.
Look at those photos and think whether these 2 sweethearts are a view you would like to face every single day.
Dickens now Called Harry Bags Himself A Home.
Another of our lovely mature boys Dickens now called Harry has finally left the building and gone to his new home.
Dickens is an older boy, and dogs like him are often discarded by humans and then overlooked in rescue because of their age.
Please don't overlook older dogs who have so much to give and will be most grateful for somewhere warm and safe to live. They deserve homes too where they will know what it is like to be loved and cared for.
Rescue dogs are not damaged dogs; they have just been let down by humans. It should not matter what colour, size or age they are - that is not rescuing. Dogs like Dickens deserve a chance, not jail!! Can you free a dog from kennels and give him or her a kind loving home?
Although we are a German Shepherd Dog rescue, there does not seem to be an official Caucasian Shepherd Rescue here in the UK, so since 2013, we have been helping these dogs find homes and have built up a good knowledge of this breed.
Most of these dogs are finding their way into the UK through unscrupulous breeders in eastern Europe or coming in via questionable rescuers with no rescue back up here in the UK. Most that we have helped so far, have been picked up as strays here in the UK.
This is certainly not the breed for everyone and if you are considering owning a Caucasian Ovcharka, please make sure that you thoroughly research the breed first. They may be the cutest bundles of fluff imaginable as puppies but they are a giant breed and will grow into a very large immensely powerful dog.

Keira Urgently Needs An Experienced Foster Home
EXPERIENCED FOSTER HOME URGENTLY NEEDED......
We need a foster home for this beautiful girl Keira who is only 21/2 years old. She needs to be the only dog in an adult only home.
Keira spent the first 18 months of her life in a cage where she chewed off her tail. She suffers from Severe Separation anxiety..... she would sleep on your head if she could but she needs to learn that it is ok to be left on her own and that you will always be coming home.
Her bottom is her hot spot and she will attack it in times of stress or excitement. Kennels are no place for this beautiful girl because it is making her issues 10 times worse.
She will be the most loyal friend you could ever wish to have.
PLEASE IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED WITH THE BREED AND CAN HELP GET IN TOUCH TODAY
Highlights from the newsletter. The 2018 Kirkstall festival took place on Saturday 16th July and, like always, was a great day for GSDR NE.
The current total stands at £1240 however with many high- value items to be used in future events (Raffles/Santa Paws/Scratch-cards etc), this is expected to rise substantially!
Shepfest 2018 - Our final total raised this year was £2,285.50! We were a bit concerned about the heat for such an event but after asking our local vet for advice we created a 'Cool Corner' with paddling pools, wet towels, fans, and thankfully we had no casualties.
Daring Debbie Harlow chopped off her luscious long locks, raising £1000 for GSDR and donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust—an amazing organisation who provides real hair wigs for children and young adults dealing with cancer. I admit I thought she was crazy, but it looks stunning!
Pull up a chair, grab yourself a coffee and enjoy our latest newsletter.
Remember a time when pets used to die of old age? Well, not any more thanks to greedy vets and big pharma pushing toxic vaccines and pet food manufacturers for giving us junk food kibble which has little if any nutritional benefit for your pet. Over 60% of dogs are now getting cancer yet dogs should not be getting cancer which is a manmade disease.
Ask your vet - where is the evidence to support yearly vaccines and where is the evidence to support the use of neurotoxins to prevent parasites?
GSD's have weaker immune systems than most other pedigree breeds so carry on giving these toxins and your pet can look forward to severe allergies, seizures, anaemia and cancer. The number 1 killer of cancer in GSD's is now cancer with hemangiosarcoma one of the most prevalent.
The brain remains alert and front end remains normal so watching your poor dog trying to drag itself around on its front limbs is heartbreaking, which makes the decision to put to sleep even harder. Some owners do resort to doggy wheels, and many dogs do very well on these, although it takes a great commitment from the owner.
GSDR always has and always will operate a NO DESTRUCTION POLICY because we believe that all dogs deserve a good life. We will find the right home for all the dogs that come into our care no matter how long it takes. German Shepherd Dog Rescue is both a registered charity and company, which produces yearly accounts so that you know where your donated monies are spent.
