Team GSDR attend Robin Hood Game Fair Suffolk

Weekend 9th and 10th October 2010, team GSDR attend the first of 2 game fairs in 2 weeks. Over the two day show we managed to raise over £530 which will go a long way towards the ever increasing costs of kennel and vets bills!

Yet again the volunteers of GSDR showed their dedication and love of the breed when they turned out to support the rescue on the stand at the Robin Hood Country Fair at the Suffolk Showground.

So we would like to thank Mandy, Les, Doreen, Helen, Matt, Lisa, Dave, Marion and especially Linda and Tom who without their support we would never have been at this event....

The weather was kind to us the whole weekend with not a drop of rain which made the crowds turn out and support the event. The stand was always busy the main attraction being the rescue dogs that attended the event and behaved themselves impeccably.

We ran a “Name the Dog” competition on both days and both winners were very pleased with their new four legged addition to the family. We managed to spread the word about the wonderful breed that we strive to rescue from sometimes appalling conditions or simply just because they have become too old.

We sold lots of GSD merchandise with the little plush toys proving a hit with children as well as adults! Bonart country clothing kindly gave us shirts to sell to help raise funds – and Matt Maisey from Bonarts turned out on Sunday and has now become a fosterer and very shortly his first foster dog Lilly will be joining him!
