Saffy is sadly looking for her final forever home due to a dramtic change in her adopters circumstances.
Saffy's original owner died and she had been left at the property. She was adopted about a year ago by her current owner but sadly with a move and a change of job means he can no longer care for Saffy.
Saffy is unspayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She will be 5 in February 2026.
Saffy grew up around children but does not currently live with them.
She has lived with another dog. We feel she should initially be the only dog in the home as she has had a lot of upheavel recently and will need to decompress and spend quality time with her new adopters.
Saffy is a fabulous dog at home and is happy to greet people when they arrive and be stroked. She knows basic commands, loves to play in the garden and plays well with the resident Retreiver.
She is only off lead in secure fields as her recall is a little hit and miss. Her original assessment said that she got on with all dogs but she hasn't been socialised that much since moving but the volunteer feels that she is interested in other dogs and doesn't display aggression towards them. Careful and slow introductions will be needed. Her owner has been poorly so training has recently taken a back seat
Saffy is not a fan of traffic she will lunge at a single car going past but if she gets flooded with cars she seems a little better. She doesn't react to people when out of the home.
With some more regular exercise and mental stimulation Saffy could be a wonderful companion. She will need a home who understands the breed and is willing to be patient as she learns the ropes. With som structure and consistency in her life she has the makings of a fabulous companion.
