AS OF THE 6TH MAY 2025 THIS YOUNG LADY RUKIA IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF A NEW HOME.

Rukia is 4.5 years old and has lived in a family environment for most of her life. She was extremely bonded to the female of the household who did the majority of the caring... feeding walking and interacting with her.

Sadly the family has split and the female owner is now in temporary accomodation whilst Rukia is in the family home with the male who does not want her. She is getting very little interation and even less stimulation mental or physical. The voluteer feels that she is very stressed about her situation and really needs out as soon as possible.

Rukia is better with females than males. She will bark at strangers but does settle once introduced. 

She has not lived wuith young children and we feel she needs a home with older calmer children who do not move as quickly as little ones and also have lived and understand larger breeds.

She is said to be reactive to dogs but can learn to be with them iof introduced slowly and properly.

She will chase cats and deer. So a home that is cat free would be the best.

This was quite a difficult assessment to do as Rukia hadn't seen her female owner so was very keen to stay by her side throughout the assessment and not really interact with the volunteer. The volunteer was introduced to Rukia and after the initial bark she said hello then went back to her owner.

Rukia was pleased to be going out for a walk. She is walked on a headcollar which she is fine with. She seemed fine with people passing but is said to be reactive to other dogs. This was not witnessed by the volunteer. 

The volunteer is worried about Rukia and the attention or lack of that she is getting at p;resent as the male whois looking after her is not happy to have her in the home. Rukia is definitley stressed by her situation and needs a calm confident home who will give her time to decompress and the time and attention that she is craving. She is a l,ovelyt girl but just needs a little work to make her perfect.
