Meet the lovely Rex who is 4.5yrs old
Rex is a short haired castrated boy, Rex is looking for a new gone due to his mum and dad separating
Rex was very excited to see our volunteer when he was let into the room once she was seated, he jumped up for a fuss and was very pleased to see her
Rex is a typical gsd and will bark if he sees somebody coming to his door or passes by, he is easily distracted though with treats
Rex is not a chewer and can be left for 6hrs, he is house trained and is fed on kibble
He isn’t a fan of the car and does whine but will eventually settle down, this could be he’s not had many trips out in the car
Rex does have some recall but is easily distracted, he knows all the general commands and is good on the lead, our volunteer said he has a fine heel work position !!
Rex is very nervous at the gets and does require a muzzle
He hasn’t been around children under 10
Rex might possible chase a cat as not been around
Rex is nervous of other dogs when he’s on lead, he was attacked as a pup and his owners don’t have the confidence to let him meet dogs
We would say he will need somebody who is confident around dogs who will show Rex he has nothing to fear
Rex clearly needs confidence training when it comes to meeting other dogs, this could be easily rectified with some local evidence classes. Our volunteer said he’s a super dog who would thrive in an experienced gsd home
Rex is clearly very bright and eager to learn, he’d be a fantastic competitive obedience dog with an adopter who wished to pursue this
We would recommend a pet free home for Rex with adopters who are experienced and have commitment to give this gorgeous boy
