Harley - Mid Glamorgan

Harley - Mid Glamorgan

This young lad is Harley who is just a year old, microchipped, castrated and already looking for a new home because his owners say he has separation anxiety and hip dysplasia.

His owners have had him since a puppy of 2 months old. They got him from a breeder where he was being kept in filthy conditions. He was very underweight so they took him straight to the vets who told them that Harley was quite ill and had not been fed properly. The breeder was reported to the RSPCA.

When our volunteers arrived, Harley was a bit timid at first but soon accepted him. They thought he was gorgeous. Whilst they were there, he was happy and contented, no signs of any problems. He lives with children, another dog and cats.

His owners work so when they leave him, he will trash the place unless crated. He tries to get out of the crate hence the scars on his nose.

This poor lad needs a home where he has company, not where he will be left long hours whilst the owners go to work. He is also shut in the crate downstairs at night and this stresses him out to the point that he will cry at intervals and wake them up. He loves his crate whilst they are with him.

Harley is such a lovely boy and deserves a better life. In time the separation anxiety will go, it just needs to be worked with at this stage.

The owner claims that Harley has a degree of hip dysplasia which doesn't affect him at the moment but may do later in life. This wasn't evident to our volunteers.

Have you got some time and patience to give this young lad to help build his confidence?

Harley is such a handsome young boy.

Harley has so much to give, he is a smasher.
