Poppy North Wales

Meet the beautiful Poppy whose 6 years old and has to have one of the sweetest and kindest natured GSD we have had the pleasure in meeting for a long time

Poppy’s story is a sad only unfortunately, she was sold as a pup by her breeder but was found on the streets severely injured and was about to be PTS, luckily the vets scanned her microchip and she was still registered to her breeder who drove to collect her and took her straight to the vets. Sadly Poppy’s back leg was shattered and had to be plated which was carried out in a specialist vets hospital and she has fully recovers and is now looking for a home of her own

Poppy was very excited to see our volunteer when she arrived, she wanted a nice fuss and allowed our volunteer to stoke over all her body and check her ears and teeth without any issues

Poppy was eager to go out when she saw her lead and is strong initially but does calm down during the walk, she doesn’t need a lot of exercise due to her leg injury so a large garden with short walks in a rural location would be best

Poppy would suit a retired couple who would be home the majority of the time as she loves human contact

She would prefer to be the only dog in the home as although she lives with 2 other dogs Poppy doesn’t get on with her mum but this might be because they are 2 unspayed females. She would be ok with slow introductions to doggies outside the home

Poppy has never lived with cats

Poppy has been around young children so could live with children over 5

She’s house trained and loves the shower

Poppy black GSD needs anew home
