Paddington

Meet Paddington who is a lovely lad who again is being rehomed through no fault of his own.

Paddington is 7 years old, he has a beautiful black and tan coat and is entire

Sadly Paddington’s dad has died and his mum being elderly is struggling to walk and stimulate him

Paddington was very excited to see our volunteer when she arrived at the house, he was behind a stair gate and wined until he was let out, he didn’t jump up but he is boisterous which is as a result of him being under stimulated and bored, he is a very friendly boy

Paddington took treats and enjoyed having a fuss, he became excited again when he realised he was going out for a walk

Paddington is walked by a dog walker a few times a week, he did pull on the lead initially but then once he had toileted he settled right down

The dog walker was keen to show our volunteer how obedient Paddington was and the training he had provided, Paddington had excellent recall and responded well to commands, the whole walk was calm

Paddington is a little wary of little dogs and does try and dominate them but is good and generally ignores bigger dogs

Paddington is house trained and good at the vets

Due to his current living circumstances Paddington has been escaping due to not having a secure garden and has been in neighbouring fields where there are sheep, he ignores them when out on a walk but there is some concern that Paddington could be killed if caught in the paddocks

He can also open doors and windows and seems to be wanting to get out and about due to boredom, again this is a clear indication of under stimulation and this boy clearly needing more from his home

Paddington has never shown any signs of aggression

We would recommend a home with teenage children due to Paddington having no contact with little ones

No small furries

This lovely lad is really needing a home with previous GSD experience, he responds well to clear commands and direction which he’s not getting consistently in his current home
