NORMAN - KENT

Meet Norman who is sadly looking for his new home due to circumstances beyond his control.

Norman is a huge boy weighing in at about 53k, he is long haired with massive paws. In the home he is welcoming and soft natured, inquisitive withou=t being a pest. He will patiently wait for a visitor to play ball, but not willing to give it back so minimum of 2 balls will be needed.

He is said to be fine with older children. We would prefer young adults with an understanding a respect of the breed. Being aloof attention would be when he wanted it and young children can be a little too hands on.

He is said to be good with other dogs, there was no reation when dogs were seen at close proximity whilst out walking.

We would be looking for a cat free home.

He has been with his family since he was about a year and was already castrated,. The suspicion  is that he was already calm when he arrived as his owners have not puot in any training, his size has dictated what he wants he gets !!!! His nature is a delight.

Out of the home again his size decides which walk he will take, if he doesn't like where his owner is going he will stop and want to turn around. This always happens so Norman takes the lead. He does poull firmly on the lead but no one has ever tried to stop it but he is not in the steam train territory.

He does grumble if brushed, so he doesn't get one. The volunteer discussed food aggression but they do not interupt his feeding regime, just put it down and leave him to it. He is definitely a foodie. Little things to be aware of when going into a new home.

The volunteer says... A huge confident shepherd who needs a new home folling a change in circumstances. With a good routine Norman will be easier than most of the shepherds that we have. Due to his size and relative stubbornness (due to no training put in place) he will need a calm confident savvy home.
