NICO - HERTFORDSHIRE

The lovely Nico is sadly looking for his new home as he is too much for his owner and is now very rarely walked.

Nico is a big lad who is probably a little overweight, still fed his normal daily amount plus treats and leftovers from the owners plate and not walked !!

He was VERY excited to meet the volunteer and did jump up but she said that she had never felt LESS threated=ned by a dog. He jusyt wanted attention and lots of it. He would probably be fine with older more dog savvy children, would probably bowl little ones over as he is quite exuberent.

He goes to Daycare so his owner has some respite from him. Having spoken to the owner in the 2 hyears he has been going he has not been interacted with any dogs as he barks, so the poor lad has never had a chance to be socialised, and even at daycare is isolated.

Out walking he is very strong on the lead, he has never had any training. When he got excited he would get the lead in his mouth and pull away from you. He loves having a stick thrown for him and is said to ignore other dogs when he has a stick BUT this was not tested as the weather was so shocking on assessment day that they didn't meet humans or other dogs on thewir walk.

In short he is a house angel and an outside devil. He desperately needs a home with someone willing to put in some work, but really someone that actually WANTS him and will spend quality time getting to know him and show him how to be a happy dog. He is bored and lonely and whilst he has not known any different for the last 6 years he really does deserve better.

Nico would like to be an only dog in his new home with adults or if children we would ask that they are teenagers or older.

Can you offer this lovely lad his new home ??
