18m – female – German Shepherd
Margot has sadly been returned to us through no fault of her own.
Lovely Margot is clever, energetic and always up for a play session. Coming to us as a stray, we know little about her background so she is looking for a new family who are happy to give her plenty of time to settle and build her confidence in her new world. She may have never lived in a home before so is likely to need a house-training refresher, time left alone built up slowly and some help with general manners around the home.
Margot would be best suited to a quieter environment as she can find strangers and pets quite worrying. She can be vocal when scared so walking areas where there is less to worry about would be great. Margot does seem to be under socialized at the moment, more so around other dogs, so will need her new family to be keen on positive reward training to help manage her current behavior as well as making improvements for the future. As a result, Margot will need to be the only pet in the home and will require an enclosed garden to be able to safely play off lead.
Margot’s general personality is cheeky, fun and full of life once she knows you. She loves food, training and especially playing and will always be up for a ball game. Being such a youngster, Margot would benefit from further basic obedience training but her love of treats and toys should make this lots of fun for both pooch and owner. She will need a relatively active home to ensure that her energy is put to good use!
Margot can potentially live with teenagers depending on introductions at the centre and will require regular grooming.
We are currently investigating a minor issue with her back legs/back, but will keep potential adopters updating on this.
Margot is with Teckels Animal Sanctuary in Gloucester. You can call them 9am-4pm or email them.
