Maisie - West Yorkshire

Meet the gorgeous Maisie, a young GSD looking for a home after she was found tied up outside the dog shelter. Maisie is currently in kennels and despite her ordeal, she's a lovely pup who craves human attention. Maisie is approximately 12 months old and very much acts like a goofy puppy. She doesn't seem to have been taught much or been taken for many walks but she's a fast learner. 

She is starting to walk well on the lead, although she tends to jump up at her handler in excitment from time to time. She is quite clingy and walks right by your side and looks at you for directions.

Maisie has had a play in the off lead with a male GSD and was great at first. She did have a scrap with him eventually but we think it might be because she was coming into season. She has since been on a walk with another dog and did not react. She saw a couple of small dogs on her walk too and didn't react to their barking.

Because of her tendency to jump up, we wouldn't rehome Maisie with young children. She has not been cat tested.

We do feel that Maisie suffers with separation anxiety as she really craves for human attention so when you leave her in the kennel you can hear her crying for you. When I pick her up on a weekly basis she get so excited and will constantly want to be wrapped around me and loves me stroking her head, she’s so desperate to belong to a family. 

Maisie has the cutest little face and has a lot of love to give. She's too young to be stuck in kennels. She will need someone who can continue with her training and teach her boundaries. She has been let down by humans once and is ready for a fresh start with her forever family.
