LUNA - OXFORDSHIRE

Luna is a bright, friendly, well-balanced  GSD who needs some training and an active, interesting life.

She is unspayed and will be adopted under a neuter contract.

She has been with her current owner since she was 8 weeks old and had a careful upbringing. She was crate-trained at that time and remained clean in the house from 10 weeks old.

Luna was taught food manners and other house rules from the start, and lived in the home until two years ago. Now she and her older fellow dog companion live in kennels in the garden and seem happy there.

Her current environment is very quiet and rural. She apparently had a lot of experience meeting and playing with other dogs early on, and has been walked on town streets without issues. Until recently, she went to her owner's office regularly and settled well there with other people, deliveries and so on. She has also been around children of all ages without any issues.

She has a high prey drive and once chased a Muntjac deer. Her recall, therefore, needs retraining, and care to be taken around livestock and wild animals. She is used to horses and apparently ignores them.

Our volunteer found her to be a friendly girl who showed polite interest in her. There was a little excitement and some jumping up at first. She took sausage treats very gently.

On the lead walk, she wandered about a bit, sniffing or playfully finding sticks to carry from the undergrowth. She kept an eye on the sheep in the enclosure and was generally interested in her surroundings. A dog barked at her through a fence, and she barked once, then went for a friendly sniff.

She has not had formal obedience training to date.

Her current owners believe she would be happy as an only dog or with others.

 Age is just a number, this lovely girl has lots to offer her new adopters, please don't overlook her, she will make a fantastic addition to your family
