LUCIA - OXFORDSHIRE

This stunning 4-year-old German Shepherd has already known more hardship than most dogs should in a lifetime. She spent her early years chained to a tree in a remote Romanian graveyard, with only a rusty oil can for shelter. Her days were spent pacing in endless circles, retracing the same path over and over. She was fed scraps of bread and bones, and the only water she had was stagnant and filthy.

But those dark days are behind her now. She’s safe in kennels here in the UK, and what a transformation she’s made already. Despite everything she’s been through, she is one of the most affectionate and friendly dogs you could hope to meet. She adores people – every human is a new best friend. The moment you say hello, she flops over for belly rubs with the biggest smile on her face.

She’s never shown an ounce of aggression and lives for cuddles and attention. Initially, she was very reactive around other dogs, but she’s been working hard and has made great progress. With continued patience and support, she’ll only get better. She can be strong on the lead too, but this is also improving with consistent training.

Now she needs a special family – one that will give her all the love, structure, and security she missed out on. She’s desperate to bond with someone and to finally feel what it means to be safe and cherished.
