Meet Luca who is a 1 year old neutered male.
He is looking for a new home due to not getting on with one of the residential dogs.
Luca goes to doggy daycare with his owner and is very sociable with the dogs.
When he’s at home he wants all the attention on him and will push in when the other dogs are getting a fuss off the owner.
Our volunteer said Luca didn’t know how to greet and contain his excitement when they met him. He barks and can be quite dominant, pushing himself onto you. He was muzzled because the owners did not know how he would react but he settled down quickly.
He lived with older children in his previous home before he was given up by them. He’s good with cats inside the house but not sure outside of the home.
Luca walks lovely on the lead and will check in with you. He is on high alert and doesnt react to other dogs, traffic and bikes. He will bark and lunge at men. He doesn’t like the male vets but is fine with female vets. He’s never bitten anybody.
Luca is currently having 1-1 training with a dog trainer.
Luca needs an experienced GSD home where we can carry on with training. He needs to understand basic commands and work on his recall. He is used to being crated which will help with training.
