Obi was rehomed through our rescue just over 14 months ago but sadly is in need of a new home.
He is vaccinated, microchipped and castrated.
Obi is untested around children so we would be looking for an adult only home oor a home with older children who have an understanding of large dogs.
Obi has not been overly socialised with other dogs. He will have a minor reation to some but not in an uncontollable lunging way more an assertive manner.
He would only be good at chasing cats so a cat free home is a must. Obi has never met or seen livestock.
Obi has lots of positives but as with any rescue a few negative behaviours which in the right home could be ironed out.
His undesrieable behaviours we believe are created by the contrast in manners of his exisiting owners. They are very different in their interactions with Obi and we believe that he has become confused and is now struggling.
The volunteer found:
A great lion of a dog, 40kg plus with a light coloured face and a beautiful black anbd tan coat. He described him as a stunning imposing boy.
His current owners have done a great job with Obi in the last 18 months but with busy work lives they are now struggling to find a consistent routine that works for Obi. He is well behaved and easy to handle during the week when the owners are in their work routine. The weekend is a different matter as the routine is lost . Obi likes a routine and needs that 7 days a week. Sadly as he has become confused he has taken to guarding the female owner over the husband.
Obi really needs to understand his place in the home.
In short this stunning boy needs an experienced home with people who understand the importance of a consistent environment. Hopefully this fresh start will provide the reset that this lovely lad needs.
