Zoe is a Central Asian Shepherd who is 3 years old and spayed.
She was originally rescued by a lady in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where she was living outside in terrible heat.
Dogs like Zoe have little chance of ever finding a good home out there as many ex-pats live in apartments and there are severe dog restrictions out there where most local people regard dogs as vermin.
The rescue that found her got her to the UK where she is currently in foster.
Zoe is a lovely, friendly girl even with young children that she has met.
However, she is not keen on living with other dogs as she wants to have her people all to herself. This is causing difficulties for her foster mum as she has other dogs so is having to keep Zoe separate.
Central Asian Shepherds are magnificent dogs but they are not the breed for everyone and unless you have large or giant breed experience this may not be the dog for you. They are large powerful dogs.
They are livestock guardians traditionally used for guarding sheep and goat herds.
Central Asian Shepherd Dogs are said to be the oldest known group of dogs in existence and unlike most breeds today they are not man-made.
They are territorial guardians bred to guard people and their possessions. They seek out human attention and bond with their humans first and flock second and they guard whatever is placed in their perceived territory.
An ideal home for Zoe would be a more rural home with at least a large garden or preferably land.

Central Asians are such beautiful dogs.
