This lovely handsome boy is Jerry Lee who is a 7-year-old neutered GSD/Husky/Malamute who is urgently looking for a new home.
Jerry Lee has always been an anxious dog but this has escalated because of the two very young children aged 2 and 4 in the house who stress him out.
When our volunteer went to assess him he was playing outside with his frisbee which he brought back when she threw it for him.
When visitors call he sometimes barks or growls then takes himself off to his bed but with other visitors he is fine. He has never bitten.
He can be strong on the lead and will bark at other dogs he meets unless he has his Frisbee in his mouth and then he will just walk past and not bother with them. He loves his walks and his toys.
As a pup, he was frightened by fireworks and ran away and this had had an impact on him.
He lived with a cat for 2 years a few years ago which sadly died but they were best of friends and slept together. We do not know if he could live with a cat again.
He also used to live with 2 other dogs who have since died but he fought with both of them.
He is good off the lead and knows all his commands.
The house where he lives is far too small and he can't really escape from what stresses him.
Jerry Lee needs a quiet home without young children where he is the only dog.
