JENSON - KENT

This stunning boy is Jenson a Carpathian Shepherd sadly looking for a new home as he suffers from Separation anxiety and his owners he is not coping when his owner goes to work.

The volunteer met Jenson outside - his temperament was fantastic. He does not react to anything that passes - people, cars, bicycles etc - but is interested in sniffing and receiving attention - given his looks he must be well practiced at this!

They walked for some 30 minutes along the promenade. He met two other dogs - he was not reactive as such. He pulled towards a bulldog and a smaller dog to say hello with a very waggy tail. He needs treats to respond to any commands or training - without treats there is no chance.

He was great with children who have visited - especially the one year old grandchild. As long as the baby does not have food the owner says he would happily leave them together.

He has met cats in the pub - and in a pet shop. He does not react.

#Almost the perfect dog. However, Jenson has developed extreme SA when the owner goes to work. Originally Jenson was fine, but after taking two weeks off work and being constantly with Jenson, the owner says his behaviour has changed. As soon as he leaves for work Jenson paces up and down the window. He does not make a noise but has been destructive on one occasion in trying to break out of the house. The volunteer suspects Jenson is left for long periods too often. The owner says he has a friend who is a behaviourist and he has tried the normal SA steps based on her advice. But ultimately he wants to give the dog a better life than he can provide.- but the reality is this dog should not be in a small flat.

He is getting plenty of walks - but Jenson really needs more space and someone with the time to help with his SA in a more committed way.

A wonderful Carpathian Shepherd in need of a new home. Jenson is a calm, gentle giant of a dog. He loves to walk, and loves attention. He does not like water despite his large webbed paws. He has 6 months experience of living in a flat - not the right environment for him. He is used to space and freedom, and sadly has developed separation anxiety when his owner goes to work. This stunning dog deserves better. The calmest most approachable dog the volunteer has met on rescue business.

Do you have the space and are you at home most of the time.... this lovely boy really does deserve a wonderful home
