Jazz came to us after being found as a stray.
She is approximately 4 years old and spayed. She has been in kennels for some time now.
Jazz has a large personality and is mainly walked out from the kennels by a male volunteer due to her possible strength. She walks very nicely once she gets going.
Jazz is very verbal when she first meets you, but once she knows and trusts you, she is one of the most affectionate girls, especially with the men whom she rolls over for them to rub her tummy.
Jazz takes treats gently and is very friendly with the kennel owners’ young son, with whom she sometimes interacts. However, we will not rehome Jazz with young children, as the resident child has been brought up with the rescue dogs and has built a relationship with her. We would consider rehoming Jazz with older children who are experienced with large dogs.
Jazz does not tend to be reactive to things around her on a walk but sometimes will grunt at a pedestrian, and another time ignore them.
Jazz takes an interest in other dogs that pass and will only bark if provoked by the other dog.
Jazz shows signs of being playful with dogs when she's not in her kennel. So she could live with a large male dog if slowly introduced.
Ideally, whoever adopts Jazz will have a very large secure and enclosed garden, or small holding, to give her the space she needs.
Given the right handler and training, Jazz has the potential to become a good and loyal companion.
