Jago - a pandemic pup
Poor Jago had the misfortune to be born during the pandemic. As a result, he was not socialised with other dogs at the crucial puppy stages. So, his problem is that he is completely unsocialised and lunges at other dogs. We have not witnessed this and so cannot be sure as to the cause. Is he nervous, does he want to play but doesn't know how to signal this or is he hard core aggressive? We think that he is probably nervous and, being unsocialised, has not had the opportunity to desensitize. Poor pandemic pup.
Having said that, he is quite well trained in other respects. He knows a lot of commands, walks well on a lead, until he sees another dog or cat, is crate trained and travels well in the car. He is quite a handy boy and is very well behaved in the house. He is gorgeous and is very sweet natured with the family.
The only reason that Jago is being rehomed is that his owner is worried about her ebullient children. A young excitable pup with a young excitable pre-teen is not a good mix. Their play could, and has escalated, and his owner feels that this is unfair to Jago. He would be the victim of this. That is why we say that he should only be rehomed with older teenagers, who are dog aware.
Are you looking for a pup with potential? Jago could be for you.
