Indy - County Durham

Hi all my potential adopters, my name is Indy and I am four years old.

A few weeks ago my Mummy sat down to have a chat with me and told me she could not manage anymore and she would find me some new loving parents. So, through no fault of my own, I need a new home. I was also told that someone from GSDR would be visiting me at home sometime. I was curious to see what this person was like, but didn’t know when they were coming. Anyway, I was at home one day when all of a sudden there was a knock on the door, I stayed quiet and looked after the cats ‘cos Mum wasn’t at home. Ten minutes later she arrived back home and five minutes after that there was another knock at the door. Mummy held my collar whilst she opened the door, I didn’t bark ‘cos I am a good girl, and this person came in, all in black. I gulped and wagged my tail, hoping he would not eat me and then I recognised it was Chris. I have been out with Chris and a few other people that Mummy has met walking down the woods with me and he still had candy in his right pocket – yay. I sat nicely In front of him but he wasn’t fast enough so I jumped up then straight back down and sat, he then gave me a liver treat so I made a big fuss of him. He went and sat down in the room and gave me another treat so I went to show off my smelly liver breath to the cat- he was not impressed – so I went and laid down.

Chris was asking Mummy all about me, she said I was a beautiful dog, I love children (even when they are not Mummy’s). I love cats, I love the world, but I do shout at other dogs when I am on the lead, or if they get too close to my Mummy I will tell them off. Chris said with a bit of time he thinks it could be overcome, he has seen me running with all his doggy friends down the woods. I think at times there were seven of them with their owners, and yes, when Big Leonard got too close to my Mummy I did try to tell him off but Chris grabbed my collar and sent Big Len away, so that was all good.

So if there is someone out there with a big heart, who will give their heart to me, I will give you mine. All except for a tiny little piece that will always belong to my current Mummy. (Us GSDs never forget people who give us lots of love)

Love and Kisses

Indy

Indy is a very caring and loving dog. She greeted me with excitement and wags but no barking at all. She had a treat and sat for it, she took it very gently and came back for more when I sat down. I met Indy about a year ago, maybe two and I found her to be a very nice dog, very friendly to humans including children and cats but she would shout at dogs when on the lead, and if they got too close to her owner she would react. Off lead, as long as they stayed away from her Mum, she was fine. She was walking with a group of us and was settling in nicely but her Mum’s circumstances changed and this stopped. I personally think that, with a bit of work and redirection, Indy will make someone a brilliant pet – Good Luck Indy
