Harvey-Nottingham

Harvey is a 9 year old neutered German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a loyal soul that has been by his person's side for nearly a decade. Circumstances have sadly changed, and Harvey is now looking for a calm, loving, forever home where he can enjoy his golden years.

Having spent the last 6 years in a one-dog home, with just him and his owner, Harvey struggled to adapt to a household merge with another dog. Unfortunately his owner was unable to commit the time and training necessary to make it a success and has made the incredibly hard decision to find Harvey a home where he can feel settled and be the only dog.

Harvey is a gentle, affectionate boy who bonds closely with his people. He's happiest spending time with you - whether that's going for a stroll, relaxing in the garden, or simply being your quiet shadow around the house. He has lovely manners indoors, doesn't chew, doesn't steal food, and is perfectly content to be left for a few hours happily sat by the window watching the world go by until you return. He will bark when someone comes to the door, but once visitors are inside, he is friendly and well-mannered.

He would thrive in a pet free home. Harvey can be reactive on the lead when he sees other dogs out and about, but this isn't aggression, more excitement and anxiety rolled together. With slow, calm introductions he can tolerate other dogs, but he prefers his own space and would rather not share his home. Harvey hasn't lived with children, but he's always been calm and gentle with visiting nephews as young as two.

Harvey is well?trained, with a solid recall and a good grasp of commands like sit, down and stay. He travels well in the car, behaves beautifully at the vets, and is up to date with all his vaccinations. Last year he had a hernia operated on successfully and is otherwise in good health for his age.

What Harvey needs most is a peaceful, dog free home with someone who understands German Shepherds and can give him the love, structure, and companionship he deserves. Harvey is a devoted friend with so much love left to give.
