Update: Erca has now found a new home where she is much loved. She has regained weight and her coat is looking much better now. Hopefully she can forget her dreadful past.
Erca - Scotland
The person that did this to Erca we have been informed, is planning on buying another dog!
This is little Erca, she is about 8 years old. We don't normally name and shame but this dog is in such a terrible state that we we feel we owe it to Erca to expose the person that has done this to her.
Her owner died about a year ago and rest of the family didn't want her so they gave her away to Gail Gibson who gave her to her daughter Morag Gibson from Perth. Erca was rescued from Morag by someone who had seen the pitiful state that she was in. Less than 5 months ago this lovely little dog was of normal weight with a beautiful coat.
Perhaps if the family see these photos, it might just prick their consciences to see what they have done to their fathers beloved little dog!!!!
Erca has been starved and is emaciated, she has little muscle because she has not been exercised in months, her skin is awful and her hair is falling out. Her claws are very overgrown and we think she has been kept confined in a small space. We have been informed that this dog has not been seen out of the flat for months. We believe from the sores on her, the smell and the condition of her coat, that she has been lying in her own urine/mess.
Because of the appalling way in which she has been treated, she has developed a serious tail chasing problem which needs to be overcome. She will chase her tail to the point of exhaustion.
When she catches hold of it, Erca sucks her tail like a baby sucks a dummy.
We desperately need a foster or permanent home for this poor dog. Someone who will be patient, kind and understanding and who will help her forget her ordeal.
Erca is good with people, very friendly but she is a little unsure of other dogs. She is currently with Jayne from the rescue who can be contacted on 01568 797957.
