DIESEL - KENT

Young Diesel is a short coated glossy black slender shepherd.

He has been in his home since he was a puppy, but now due to a change oin circumstances he needs to find a new home. If you are looking for a challenge then this young man is the dog for you. The volunteer found a dog on his back legs barking using all his energy to get the visitor to leave. After about 10 minutes he stops and welcomes the visitor like a long lost friend.

He lives with children and is great with them. He is also crate trained and does use this as his safe space away from the children for some peace and quiet. He is gentle but always on alert, not a snoozy boy.

He loves his kong but doesn't like to release it, he thinks that it ois game, he has also been hand fed so no issues around toys or food.

On a walk he reacts to everything ..... Down three flights of stairs he turned towards the volunteer at each turning point as if I he as someone new each time. As soon as they went outside he spotted someone 25 yards away. Pulling, barking and bouncing commenced. As soon as he passed he then focused on sniffing everything. A strong puller but with the sniffing not difficult for a stronger person. They passed one other man who looked more confident - Diesel ignored him. They passed a young family who retreated nervously up their drive on seeing Diesel pulling his owner - retreating led to more barking from Diesel. They  met one dog through railings at some 10 m. Behaviour exactly as for the people. Get in first with excessive barking. He shows little other sign of nervousness when this happens.

The volunteer fells it is  just a complete lack of experience of anything other than his direct family. He went to one puppy cless but was expelled for barking and general mad puppy behaviour. He has also had a 1to1 but was told to avoid all other people and dogs !!!!! which the owners have done. Totally the wrong advice but sadly now leaves a 2 year old boy who needs an owner understanding of his issues with the time and patience to turn him around and show him how to be a dog.
