??CRASH NEEDS A HOME
MEET CRASH, we are desperately looking for a foster as this lovely young lad is currently in the dog shelter as we have no kennel space to take him, although a home would really be the best option to help build his confidence.
Below info provided by the shelter.
Crash is a lovely lad, but finds the world quite overwhelming and has some work to do to help him learn how to manage his feelings, so we feel an adult only home would be best suited to him.
When Crash first arrived, he showed some discomfort around dogs, but nothing significant. However during his time in kennels he has shown more signs of dog reactivity as his stress levels have risen in the kennel environment.
We have noted Crash can become very over excitable and also fixated when he has seen our farm cats, so we feel a home with no cats or other small animals.
Crash is quite needy and people orientated and seems to get stressed when people move away and leave him.
Crash would benefit from basic manners (leash walking, jumping up etc), some work on settling and his separation anxiety and he seems to struggle with any change, he can be cautious of meeting new people and has shown some dog reactivity.
He knows his name and sit. He has been working on touch, wait and find it. He is quite happy to play with a variety of toys, but seems to enjoy soft toys the best and will often parade around with them.
The following feed enrichment is in place Slow feeder, scatter feeding and long lasting chews. He likes hotdogs the best! But will take a variety of treats.
Crash is a sweet young lad who needs a little help building his confidence and becoming a little more independent as he is currently quite a needy lad. He is a sensitive and intelligent lad who would benefit from a Shepherd experienced owner to spend some time training him. But most of all, appreciating what a special lad he really is. We are hoping that some of the behaviours we have seen progressing may settle once in a home, but cannot guarantee this and his new owners need to understand that he may be a challenging dog, but he has a heart of gold and really doesn't mean to be a challenge! If anything, he is a people pleaser and once he has formed a bond with you, it is a very strong bond. We would advise Crash goes on to work with a trainer to help him become the best boy he can be.
If you are in a position to help Crash and have an up to date home check in place then happy to arrange for you to meet him at the shelter.
