Cosmo in Lincolnshire

FOSTER/FOREVER HOME NEEDED PLEASE

This is Cosmo who came to us from a high kill shelter in Romania. He is now at kennels in Lincolnshire, where he is beginning to relax and is enjoying the kindly and luxurious treatment there. This is all very different to the tough conditions that he has had to endure. We feel that he is now ready to progress to a home, where his nervousness will be understood and allowances made for lack of lead training and wariness of other males.

He is generally unsocialised but we have seen video of him being rather bouncily friendly to a female dog. His vet passport says that he is eight but these can be unreliable and we think he may be younger than this as there is only a little grey around his muzzle.

He still has a lot to learn about life here but the proprietors of the kennels rate him. This is what they tell us about him:-

He is lovely. He is a bit grabby when it comes to food, but I’m trying to get him to calm down when I’ve got his food as he accidentally grabbed my coat. He isn’t quite sitting but isn’t jumping up now which is good. He will lick your hand and have a cuddle but is always a little wary.

He was very thin when he came to us so trying to fatten him up, lots of treats. His favourite thing to do is sit in the sun and chew on a treat. He has a little spot he likes to sit in. We have walked on a lead in the main field as he is very interested what’s on the other side of the fence. He doesn’t pull but is a little erratic which is normal as he just wants to sniff everything. He is no longer interested in having a pop at other kennels but is intrigued by new guests arriving.

He has learnt very quickly that no means no. He is an intelligent boy and is picking up things quickly.
