Broccoli is 1 year old and was saved from an abandoned flat where she was left behind.
She is currently with a lovely couple who live in a flat, but they have been told by their landlord that Broccoli needs to leave next week.
We don’t know much about Broccoli’s past, but we know she hasn’t been socialised and can be afraid of the unknown, sudden sounds, and surprises.
She currently lives with a 5 month old baby and is extremely gentle around her. She could be rehomed with children in a quiet household. She has never lived with dogs or cats, so we are looking for a pet free home.
She is not spayed and we do not know when she was last vaccinated.
Broccoli will bark at strangers when they come to the property. She may jump a little when excited but is mostly calm. She does not nip.
Her current owners believe she may have some separation anxiety. Broccoli is more closely bonded to the male owner, and when he goes to work she will take herself to another room. When he is home, she follows him everywhere. She has been left alone for up to 1.5 hours and did not chew anything. She did bark when her owners left and upon their return. She toileted indoors once, but this was believed to be because she needed the toilet rather than due to agitation. She will let you know when she wants to go outside.
She has travelled in the car and was unwell for the first 30 minutes but slept for the remainder of the journey.
Broccoli is walked on a harness and will sometimes pull. Our assessor did not meet dogs during the walk but Broccoli did bark at a dog behind a fence that was barking at her. This appeared to be fear based rather than aggression. She may bark when people pass by on bicycles, on foot, or in cars, and may react to cars driving by quickly. Broccoli will require recall training.
Our assessor says Broccoli is a lovely dog who needs a forever home with the time and willingness to invest in training and socialisation
