Bonio - Beds

This sweet boy is the adorable Bonio. He has come from hell but is managing to adapt to luxury at foster here in Eastern Region in Bedfordshire.

Bonio is only about ten months old but was kept in appalling conditions in Spain, where he lived in crate that was too small for him to move properly. As a result he has suffered some deformity to his limbs. He is severely cow hocked, his right front paw turns outwards, and he has flat feet. He was extremely malnourished and weighed only 20kgs upon arrival and has been left also with a heart murmur, as a result of the anaemia that he suffered. Two vets have examined him now, however, and both believe that, with care and sustained exercise, his deformities will improve as he strengthens.

Almost miraculously, Bonios' sweet temperament has remained unaffected by his brutal treatment. He loves and trusts everyone. Currently he lives in a foster home with another dog, a very young child and two babies. He is remarkably trusting and is always affectionate. Even the post man is welcomed with an affectionate request for a cuddle!

He is an intelligent boy and is making great progress with training and etiquette. He walks well on the lead and travels without problems by car. He plays ecstatically with his dog companion and is well able to keep up with him. His foster parents say that he does not know that he has wobbly legs! His foster experience is enabling him to become an experienced and trained dog able to integrate into any family setting. However, he is so bonded with the family dog that his foster parents feel that it would be a shame for him not to live with another canine companion.

Have you got the special home and the patience to help young Bonio build upon the good start that his foster experience has given him?
