Bodie And Doyle
Bodie and Doyle - ex yard dogs
These 2 lads have had an appalling life having been kept in a filthy yard as guard dogs.
REHOMED
Bodie and Doyle are with Steve at SHAK
Bodie and Doyle were left abandoned in a yard when a business closed, all the equipment and staff were gone. One wonderful ex employee could not stand by and leave the dogs alone and stranded and eventually probably be destroyed. These two moved into the yard at 8 weeks old, and after 8 years service as very effective guard dogs they were no longer needed or wanted. Due to one mans persistence they found their way to us, and after a very cautious introduction yesterday they really shone today.
Bodie
Bodie is the more enthusiastic guard dog of the two. For his age he is still as fast as a dart and is very aggressive towards strangers. With people he knows though he is just lovely. He shows lots of affection and is happy to just have company which is why it is so awful for him at the moment. When we visit them he never leaves Steve's side. He seems to be in pretty good shape although in desperate need of a bath and a hair cut.
Bodie
Bodie has taken a little bit longer to settle and you can see he tends to learn a lot of Doyle. The more “guarding” of the two, but already me and him are building a little trust, you can see deep down he wants to be friends:
Doyle
Doyle is a full male. He is very affectionate and the more calmer in nature of the two. He loves to play. His favourite thing is a ball. Football, tennis ball anything. He can be a bit funny around strangers. Some of the staff at the yard used to walk him and very occasionally take them to the park. But as with Bodie no contact at all with other dogs and he does not like children either.
Doyle
They are now in a place of safety. They are currently in boarding/rescue kennels but we think they deserve some warmth and comfort and a happy retirement.
We think a rural home without young children and other pets would be best.
