Blitzen - Derbyshire

Blitzen is looking to be re homed due to a relationship breakdown and sadly he is now being left long periods of time and obviously missing the rest of his family. Blitzen is a typical shepherd in that he is vocal when anyone arrives at the door and current owner is nervous of dogs behaviour (apparently he can bark and jump at strangers), however our volunteer quietly sat down and ignored Blitzen and after a few minutes owner let him wander over and all the dog wanted was a good fuss and belly rub. Blitzen has good basic commands and is very good waiting on his "drying mat" whilst he gets cleaned  up after his walks. He has lived with another dog and a cat and apart from getting a bit protective of his food with the other animals he rubs along in a pack quite nicely. Blitzen will let humans take his food but any treats going are his!  Blitzen loves his ball and will play very happily with anyone who has got the time. At the moment he is now home alone and his food is left down all day so he can graze but he is getting bored with his own company so it is urgent that we find this handsome man a new forever home somewhere they are used to shepherds and can maintain pack leader status.
