BOUNCY BLAZE
Blaze is not being rehomed because he is a problem dog. Far from it. He is challenging, at the moment, but he is a young bouncy dog, (only twenty months actually). He lives in a first floor flat, his owners work full time and he is being left for eight hours a day and they have small children. This is clearly a recipe for disaster. But, our assessor found Blaze to be a 'delightful and nice natured dog,' whom he felt would 'flourish in the right environment'. Obviously, he is not in the right home and his owners acknowledge this and want more for him.
Blaze has a number of minor issues. He will chase small dogs, if given the opportunity. He is unsocialised and can be defensive with larger ones. The pandemic has meant that he has not been to dog training classes, which his owners intended. He is an affectionate boy but he still 'puppy mouths', which should have been resolved by now. He is basically friendly towards the children, but he has started to growl at them. This is limited to resource guarding, but is an indication that he thinks of himself as higher status. He only obeys commands from his male owner, as well. Incidentally these are, at present, in Polish but he does respond to hand signals. He will not experience any problems in communication if English verbal commands are backed up by hand signals - from someone of either sex! Clearly, he needs an experienced owner, who can establish boundaries and can direct his abundant energy into more positive channels. Of course, he pulls hard on the lead as well, and so would benefit from being exercised with a dogmatic, initially at least.. It would also help if he had a garden, where he could use up a degree of his youthful ebullience.
This poor young lad needs someone to take him in hand and show him the sort of life that he deserves. He will repay all of this with gratitude and devotion. He has the makings of a smashing dog.
Are you lucky enough to be the new owner of this gorgeous pup?
