BONNY BELLA
Bella came to us from the local dog warden a few weeks ago. They think that she had been owned by gypsies and she was still lactating, poor girl. We do not even dare speculate as to what happened to her pups. Naturally she was slightly timid, at first, but she is developing now into a happy confident girl and ... a very good one! Is she a perfect dog? I would say that she is very nearly this.
She is now happily fostered with two other GSDs and anyone who wishes to adopt can hear about how she is first hand from her adopter and go on to meet her in a home setting, with the other dogs. In the meantime, here is a report on Bella - day three in foster care.
Do you feel that she would be the dog for you? We are looking for a home with another playful dog(s) to help her to develop her lovely cheerful nature. If you think you match the bill, please apply through the website.
Start of day three, and I am happy to report all is going well with Bella, came downstairs to find all three dogs on one two-seater settee, sorry not quick enough with the phone to get a photo.
What I have found so far about Bella.
Does not like large vans
Does not like belts
Does not like raised voices
A little anxious in crowded areas
She does not like spray bottles (dirty dawg shampoo)
Likes to bolt her food down (food now pressed into the bottom of her bowl so she has to make an effort to get it out, thus slowing down her eating)
She did try and show dominance over my two dogs when she first got here but that has now stopped
She is good with other dogs
Walked through school kicking out time, no problem with the children, but not spent any time with children whilst in my care
She is good with cats
She is good with chickens
She walks well on the lead (after the initial excitement of being out)
She is house trained (and will let you know if she needs to go out)
She sits to command (most of the time)
She has been left alone twice, first time for 15 minutes and then again for 30 minutes (both times we were next door with neighbour), no barking heard, very VERY excited to see us on return, no chewing or damage noted whilst we were out
She loves to snuggle on the settee of an evening
