Bear - West Yorkshire

Meet Bear, a stunning young boy looking for a home. Bear is a little unsure around strangers but once he knows you he is a sweet dog who listens and looks up to his handler for directions. He loves to play ball and knows basic commands such as sit, down, leave etc...
Bear is very good around other dogs. He's had a play off lead with other dogs and regularly goes for walks with his kennel friends. He doesn't react to strange dogs when he's out on a walk either. Bear would love to be rehomed with a confident dog as he will look up to them.
It seems as though Bear has not been walked very much in his previous home but he walks fine on the lead. We have been taking him to different places like parks and pet shops and building up exposure to new environments and he has been fantastic and not fazed by much.
This is as long as he is outdside or in a big enough space though. Bear gets very nervous when he feels trapped in a small space and this leads to reactivity towards people. We think this is due to him being left in the kitchen a lot in his previous home. He had become extremely reactive towards strangers coming into the home and was guarding the room he was in- to the point where his owners had grown fearful of him.
We are looking for an experienced home for Bear with someone who can address this. He is such a wonderful dog in many aspects and he deserves to feel safe with a confident handler who takes charge.
