REHOME YOUR DOG
Bear - Lancashire
Bear is only 10 months old, has basic training but is quite a cheeky young man who will need a competent owner. He was put up for re homing after he frightened the owner with his unpredictable ways i.e. sometimes lunging at a dog/passerby, or with visitors he could be loving but also without warning just react . The current owner felt training this behaviour was out of her knowledge and we have taken Bear into kennels. Here is has settled well into his daily routine, is very clean in the kennel, a good eater and although not walked with other dogs he does stop at other kennel dwellers and wag his tail. The owner of the kennel is a very competent dog person, he finds no fault in Bear at all, but his methods of training suits this youngster, he has a very kind and caring way about him and if any of his dogs misbehave he simply corrects, waits for them to be calm and then continues. Bear is very respectful of this way of training and if we can find a similar owner going forward a friendship and pal for life will ensue. If you have had a completed home check, suitable GSD experience and the time to train a youngster then please get in touch with your Area Co Ordinator. Update: Bear has had a few meets and been a good boy until you get too much into his personal space and then he grabs your arm to let you know to back off - therefore going forward we definitely need to find a quiet home with no added stimulation, i.e. visitors, until Bear settles, who will respect and leave him in peace plus more importantly, as stated earlier, no one who will dominate this lad, someone who is calm and patient, Bear is such a loving and intelligent boy, he totally respects and bonds so quickly with his handler, its just other outside stimuli that may un nerve him. Please dont enquire about Bear unless you have the right environment for him. Many thanks.
