BAXTER - SURREY

Baxter is just a year old and sadly looking for a new home.

Baxter is vaccinated and microchipped but is too young at present to be neutered. He will be under a neuter contract when adopted.

Baxter has not interacsted with small children so we would be looking for an adult only or family with older children known around large dogs.

Baxter is fine with large dogs but is unsure around small dogs....

The volunteer was met by an anxious young man who was a little unsure of the stranger coming to visit. The volunteer stood still and allowed Baxter to come in his own time. It didn't take too long for him to be comfortable and ask for strokes.

He is very bonded to the eldest child and the kids do most of the walking. Baxter doesn't get enough exercise for his age. He needs more stimulation both mental and physical.

Baxter is in good condirion. He loves being groomed and having a bath... water  in any shape or form but especially the hose.

Baxter walks quite well on a lead but needs a little more work. He is interested in dogs that he meets but not reactive. The volunteer was told that he has a good recall off lead. This was not tested at the assessment and will need to be built up with any new adopter. He responds to the whistle.

Baxter needs some guidance in his new home. He will also need time to settle and trust as he is a little nervous. Allowing him to make the first move and once he is comfirtable building his confidence. He really is a lovely lad who deserves a second chance
