Arlow - West Yorks

**VERY URGENT APPEAL FOR A HOME FOR ARLOW **

Arlow is 6 years old and suffers with anxiety, he hates being left but has been left for 2 hours and also has anxiety about the door being answered and people coming, he has started to nip/bite his owners when they go to answer the door.  His owner has cancer and his health is declining.  They have had a behaviourist come to help and are putting in the work suggested however are no long able to manage.    Our volunteer has been to assess him and she thinks he is a very sweet boy but can see the issue and also with his owner's health deteriorating.   She believes he is protecting them and doesn't think there is true malice in his nipping/biting and thinks it's him trying to stop the owners from answering the door.    He is also wary of small children,  they didn't see any dogs while out walking but good on the lead and no reactivity to people passing -  it is just the door being answered at home.
Prior to our volunteer's visit she informed the owners that she was on her way so they had plenty of notice to secure Arlow before her arrival.    On entering there was a bit of noise but nothing too bad, once she was in and sat both dogs were released and Arlow was happy to come for treats which he took with care and was happy to have her there and played with the younger dog.  The owners did show her Arlow's reaction to the door bell.  He was very vocal and didn't want them to go to the door.   Whilst out walking he was good on the lead taking notice of everything, cautious near smaller children but not bothered by people walking past. All round Arlow would suit a home where there is a good separation between the living areas and entrances.   He loves his dad and thinks he is a lap dog but definitely more of a man's dog,  he loves treats and fuss.
He is good with dogs and has lived with both male and female.

If you can help you must have a current home check due to the urgency and no children in the home.
