Anika

UPDATE 09/01/2026

I died alone last night, unwanted, unloved, nobody ever came to adopt me. I would have been the perfect companion for someone willing to accept that I didn't really like other dogs or being left alone.

RIP sweet Anika - 'the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it. White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.'

Anika had been in kennels since October which she never liked but nobody ever came forward to adopt her.

She needed an experienced DOG and CHILD free foster or forever home but it never came.

Anika originally came from Romania where she lived with other dogs, however on coming to the UK, she showed reactivy to other dogs.

She was placed in boarding kennels where she was surrounded by other dogs which caused Anika a great deal of stress which led to her tail spinning and chewing her leg despite having toys in her kennel (Anika loves her toys)

She was reactive to dogs being placed in a adjoining kennels and focused on this so she desperately needed a home with someone who was at home a lot of the time.

Anika also suffered from separation anxiety and could be destructive if not crated but she was happy to go into a crate with her favourite toy

She was an extremely loving and happy girl when out of her kennel she loved nothing more than giving the kennel owner cuddles but being a Malinois, kennels was not ideal, she required an active home preferably rural or in a quiet location where she wouldn't see many other dogs.

She had a sensitive tummy and was currently fed James Wellbeloved Grain Free which has completely solved her tummy issues she was approximately 9 to 10 years old.

In the right home we believed Anika would flourish and become a loving companion for her adopter. She is much loved by the kennel owner however kennels was not the place for this dog.
