Dogs In Kennels Long Term2

German Shepherds in Rescue Far Too Long

All of these dogs have now been in rescue for as much as a year or more. Please can we appeal to people to come forward and either offer to foster or provide a permanent home for one of these lovely dogs and make sure that they don't have to spend any longer in kennels unwanted and unloved.

German Shepherds are highly intelligent and require more exercise than most other types of dogs. Spending months or even a year or more in kennels, is not much of a life for a GSD as they become bored and institutionalised. Is it right to cage a dog for a year or more, simply because society regards these wonderful creatures as commodities and dispose of them when they become surplus to requirement.

No dog should ever have to spend months in kennels unwanted or unloved

Not only is this so wrong that these dogs have to spend months or years in kennels, but it is a big financial drain on the rescues funds. Please help us fund their kennel fees and give a little extra so that we can buy the kennel dogs some treats and toys.

If you donate through Virgin Money Giving and you are a taxpayer, we get an extra 20% in Gift Aid rather than the charges levied by Paypal. Virgin accept all credit / debit cards

casie german shepherd in kennels looking for a new home

My name is Casie, I am 5 years old and I came in with my friend Juno because my parents kept letting us escape and worry sheep. I started to squabble with Juno so we have decided that we should have separate homes. I love people but I don't like cats. You can read more about me on my page - Casie

juno gsd that needs a new home

My name is Juno I am 5 years old and I used to live in a home with Casie and children over the age of 8 but I would prefer to be in an adult only home or one with teenagers. I don't like strangers because I like to guard my property and I hate cats. I would love my own family and protect them and their home. You can read more about me here - Juno

Molly - thrown out of a car!

My name is Molly and I was thrown out of a car by some nasty people after I gave birth to puppies by caesarian. I still had my stitches in when a kind man picked me up and took me to the kennels. They think I am about 4-5 years old and I am a little cautious of people because of what happened to me. Please can you give me a forever home - Molly

Basil - Basenji GSD cross

basil basenji gsd cross

Well have we got a rare treat for you here. Meet Basil who is a Basenji / GSD cross. He is only around a year old, he is neutered, microchipped and has his own passport. Basil is an adorable, friendly, loving boy who likes all people. He is brilliant with young children too. Basil is great with other dogs and doesn't seem bothered by cats. BASIL

Duchess

duchess pretty gsd looking for a new home

The previous owner says that Duchess was being taken around by children who were selling her for £20. A friend took Duchess but couldn't keep her, which is how the current owner came by her. It is possible Duchess has been abused by children so we think an adult only home would be better for her. DUCHESS

Samsung - big cuddly teddy bear

samsung chow gsd cross

This handsome chunky monkey is our big teddy bear Samsung who is a 6 year old neutered male who has his own passport. His rescuers nicknamed him Shampoo because he liked being bathed. We believe Samsung has been beaten or hit on the side of the head which has blinded him in one eye - SAMSUNG

How you can help

BY DONATING if you can't foster or adopt: As we do not have our own kennels, we have to use commercial kennels to keep our dogs safe until new homes are found. We do try and put as many dogs in foster as possible but our foster homes are usually full up. The kennel fees are our single biggest expense and are a huge financial drain on our precious funds. The more funds we have, the more dogs we can save.
