Danny - Hereford

Danny - Hereford

This cute, little man is our Danny Boy who is neutered, passported and around 3-4 years old but is a dog that has had a very bad start in life. He was abandoned on the streets, caught by dog catchers thus ending up in a kill shelter and was very lucky to get out of there alive.

Danny is not a large GSD and he was severely underweight when he first arrived but he is a very friendly lad, although a bit defensive towards other dogs initially. It's almost as if he is unsure how to react or how the other dogs are going to react to him. He is very submissive and if you raise your voice, he drops to the ground immediately.

Danny was starved so is very greedy with his food, although not aggressive over it. He goes crazy when he knows his food is coming and it's all gone in seconds. He was so thin, you could see every rib and his hip bones although he is gradually gaining more weight now.

Danny needs a nice calm home where they will give him lots of love and reassure him. His housetraining may require a little attention initially as he is not always clean overnight in his kennel but he may be totally different in a house. It's likely that he has never lived in a house before but will no doubt adapt very quickly if there is a nice warm fire to curl up in front of or a nice cozy settee to snooze on. He may require a crate at certain times as he suffers a little from separation anxiety but is improving daily.

Danny could live with another laid back dog with careful initial introduction. Danny is a very sweet little dog who deserves some good luck and some TLC now.

Danny needs a home where they are around most of the time where with time and patience, he will be a wonderful companion. In spite of the fact that he has been badly abused by humans, he is a sweet affectionate boy who loves a fuss and a cuddle.

Danny walks beautifully on a lead and Dogmatic head collar, he is not bothered by traffic, horses or people and as long as you are firm with him, he won't lunge at other dogs. He would obviously benefit from further training and socialising.

A kennel is not right for Danny who has so much to give to his new adoptive parents as long as they are prepared to help him overcome a few of his anxieties. Can you give Danny a chance of a new life?
