Max - Wiltshire

This lovely boy is Max who is 5 years old and is still entire.

Max is a very quiet polite dog who is friendly with people and is used to children ranging from 1 year upwards. When our volunteer arrived he wagged his tail and brought his ball and accepted a fuss. Max even likes the postman.

Max's previous owner was an 83 year old woman who ended up in hospital so poor Max was kept outside in a yard with a shed for his home for nearly a year with little human contact during this time.

He is being rehomed because he jumped over the gate and attacked a small dog. previously there had been no real issue towards other dogs. Since this event, the owner has deliberately avoided walking max near other dogs. Our volunteer was unable to see Max's reaction outside on a walk as they didn't meet another dog. He doesn't like cats.

Max loves his little football, he also likes treats when he is not distracted by his ball.

He doesn't seem phased by the noises of cars, people, lawnmowers etc.

He is a very independent dog so could possibly benefit from some training, especially recall.

The issue with other dogs seems to be selective and may just be an issue with small dogs which is not uncommon.

His new home must be willing to take Max right back to basics with training, socialisation and engaging with him.

Max just needs someone with experience and time to give him what he needs. He will reward you by being a loyal and faithful companion.
