Ted - West Midlands

Poor Ted has found himself needing a new home due to his current owner having had a stroke. It isnt clear how old Ted is, possibly around 5-8 years of age. What is clear is his need of finding a comfy new environment with someone who can give him the TLC he desperately needs. Our volunteer found a very sad dog, underweight and with an obvious ear infection. The rescue has paid for him to get veterinary treatment for his ear and whilst he was in foster care they have continued with his treatment which now, after extensive tests, consists of Ted always having a blocked ear canal but as long as it is cleaned he should be okay as his body has learnt to accept the condition. Ted has thrived in his foster home and now weighs a magnificent 42 kilos and his coat is gleaming. Sadly he couldnt stay where he was indefinitely and now he has gone into commercial kennels. Going forward we need to find Ted a quiet home, someone who is used to the traits of a dog who is used to getting his own way (he can grumble if he doesnt want to do something ie. move away from the door etc) Ted has had a tough life which started being a travellers dog and then sold on to his second home where they just left him to it and put food on the floor. Outside Ted is fine being walked on a dogmatic but he is reactive to other dogs on the lead and will pounce if they get too close. I know there is a home for Ted, someone who has had a challenging boy before and knows they just want a decent home, someone to play ball and gve his ears a massage and clean when necessary.
