SHADOW - MILTON KEYNES

Shadow was adopted earlier this year but has sadly been returned to rescue as he had an altercation with a neighbours dog.

When we originally took Shadow in it was due to a death in the family.

His adopters say that he was amazing in the home a very happy boy who loved attention but he was a work in progress in the outdoors. Due to a total lack of socialisation he his dog reactive and this will need to be worked on.

Our original post is beow ......

This lovely boy is big and strong and hasn't had much socialisation. He is a typical youngster boistrous and full of beans especially when he wants attention.

The volunteer heard Shadow barking when she knocked on the door and found him still barking the other side of a baby gate when she went in. The owner reassured him that all was ok and he jumped at the gate for some fuss. He was happy to see the volunteer and for her to pet him. gate was opened and Shadow came up for a sniff.

Shadow enjoys his walks and does get excited initally pulling on the lead but after about 10 minutes he did settle down. They met another dog on the other side of the road and Shadow barked and pulled but rather than lunging towards the dog he jumped up at the owner but when told off he got down and walked on. With people he is very different, he was happy to stop and have a fuss from anyone man woman or child that wanted to say hello. Shadow has never been off lead so to date has no real recall.

His favourite pastime would be his ball, he loves to play fetch. As he is not really treat focussed the ball would be a good training tool.

All in all a lovely boy who just needs proper socialisation and slow sensible interaction with other dogs. If you are calm and confident and think you can help this lovely boy please get in touch.
