Sergei in Northants

Update June 2020: SUPER SERGEI has been rehomed

Super Sergei has been returned to kennels from a foster, even though his foster carers are heartbroken to return him. He is a very lovable boy and behaved himself very well there. He growled over a particularly tasty dollop of horse dung, once, but never did this again. He is easy to walk and played, within a day, with their much smaller bitch. He is very amenable with everyone but barked at their horses. As these are so much a part of their lives, they feel that they cannot keep him in their home long term. They kept him for us happily while we interviewed more prospective adopters, but we have to have a special home for this magnificent boy.

Sergei came to GSDR from Dubai, where it was thought he was suffering from the heat. Poor Sergei is not only a super boy because he is a fine upstanding example of his breed, but because he has a sweet forgiving nature. This poor baby was crated for months on end before he was rescued. Despite this he is friendly with everyone, whom he has met. He travelled to the UK crated again - another ordeal - and the only reaction to this further treatment was loose bowels. He is a lovely gentle boy.

However, Sergei will mature into a huge dog. He will need an experienced owner and the right home. It would be best for this to be rural. Caucasians are not very energetic but they do like to wander around their territory and they do like to be outdoors for a good time each day. After all, he came to the UK to enjoy the climate.

If you are interested in adopting Sergei please first read the information on site about Caucasians. He is a lovely example of the breed but, however adorable, he will be challenging just because of his size and strength.

A magnificent breed of dog but not one for everyone.
