Yasmin - Newport Gwent

Yasmin - Newport Gwent

This sweet little dog is Yasmin who is another dog that has had a terrible life, never knowing love or having a proper home.

She came to GSDR in 2015 when her passport stated her age as 5. We think she is 7/8 years now. She is spayed.

Yasmin will be a wonderful family pet but we think a quieter adult only home would be better for her.

She is good with other dogs, not sure about cats.

Before Yasmin came to the UK she had a standard blood test which was positive for leish although she had no symptoms. She started treatment before she came here and finished the final 6 weeks after she arrived. She has not needed any further treatment since and is fit and healthy.

Please don't let the leish put you off as we have successfully rehomed many dogs with this condition which is caused by Leishmania parasites transmitted by the bite of an infected phlebotomine sandfly. It's not Yasmins' fault and it is easily treated. Our contacts in Europe send us over the medication as it is very cheap over there as it is something that is commonly used. Should she ever require further treatment, we will provide the tablets
