Potters Bar Fundraising Event
Team GSDR 's Festive Fundraise at Potters Bar
Festive Dog Show – 12th December 2010
With the recent snow showers we had everything crossed that the day would be clear and bright for our last fundraiser of 2010. We weren’t disappointed the day was clear and bright, with the biggest gathering of vollies so far this year!
We managed to raise £800 which ensured that many dogs were safe over the Festive season!
Eager to get on with the show

Another keen volunteer ready for the off

The dog walk was led by Dom and Helen who didn’t manage to lose anyone! Everyone enjoyed the stroll round the park and upon their return they were given a hot drink and burger along with a rosette – this was very popular and will feature again next year.
Ah - now this looks serious. Not a chocolate cake in sight!!

The dog show was very popular and was all the effort of Lisa, Chloe and Sophie meant that the 6 classes run very smoothly and the judge Melanie – a qualified vet was very impressed with the turnout.
It's our Matt, always ready to fundraise for GSDR.

The various stalls were set up in the club house and always had people buying tickets – Matt had a particular knack of selling the tombola tickets although I think it was the lure of the cake stall that was next to him rather than his patter! The cake stall was a sight to and most were sold before lunchtime. The Cricket Club opened the bar although most people opted for a hot drink and a slice of cake that was served by Kym and Lizzy in the kitchen.
Prize winning pooch

Waiting for their turn

Two very well behaved German Shepherds

Down to the serious stuff again

We sold lots of GSD merchandise with the little plush toys proving a hit with children as well as adults! Bonart country clothing kindly gave us shirts to sell to help raise funds – and Matt Maisey from Bonarts turned out on Sunday and has now become a fosterer and very shortly his first foster dog Lilly will be joining him!
The big line up!

Walk this way please

Is that our Pompous Posh Paula in pink?

Linda and Tom had their “Dogs-R-Us” stand outside alongside the GSDR stand which was manned by various members of GSDR throughout the day.
Very Christmassy and lots of cuddly toys

Nice jacket

I'm confused

Who's that gorgeous creature?

Lots to see and do

Give us your money!!!

It's been a long day. I'm shattered now.

No properly organised show would be complete without the obligatory Burger stand and all day the smell of onions wafted amongst the crowd meaning that there was a never ending queue which Jim and Sue - dealt with effortlessly but having done this for a living for the past 30 years this was no surprise!!!
We managed to raise £800 which ensured that many dogs were safe over the Festive season! A huge thanks to team GSDR
