Phyre - LLanelli

This lovely girl is Phyre who is a 6-year-old spayed female who lives with her best friend a gorgeous big white German Shepherd called Ice.

They are both in foster together because their owner has been diagnosed with cancer and can no longer take care of them.

Like her friend Ice, she is friendly, polite and loves to initiate a fuss and leans in for more. She makes direct eye contact, wags her tail and tells you she wants to play.

When offered a treat she takes it very gently and behaves like a true lady.

Phyre enjoys being stroked will let you look in her mouth or ears without issue.  Amicable to being wiped down with a towel when returning from a walk in the rain.  Gives her paws to have them wiped clean.

When out on walks she either ignores other dogs or takes a friendly interest. She plays with her house partner Ice without any issue. She hasn't been observed with cats

Phyre likes to play fetch and tug and shows no possession over her toys or food.

She loves being groomed or rubbed down with a towel

Her fosterer says: 'As Phyre is only 6 years old and has only lived with adults to date, I feel any contact with children should be gradual and supervised at all times.  She has such a gentle nature that I couldn’t foresee any reason why she couldn’t live with children.

They have come into contact with children on walks, who wanted to stroke her.  She is accommodating and loves being stroked and didn’t show any aggression.  My Granddaughter (18 mths old) visited and she was quiet and calm.  Phyre hasn’t been observed with children living at home.'

Despite the breed, Phyre is not very vocal and rarely barks.

She will sit, lie down, gives his paws, fetch /toy.  She adheres to hand signals, wait and go round.  When left off the lead on the command of Play (ie in a field with no other dogs apart from Ice or distractions), she likes to chase sticks, paddle in rivers and comes back when called, without hesitation.

She is a very intelligent dog and likes interaction and enjoys a leisurely afternoon nap.
Whoever adopts Phyre will find she is such a gem and a treasure to have around the house.

We hope that someone will adopt Ice and Phyre together as they are such lovely easy going dogs and get on great with each other.
