Maxi - Co Durham

Maxi has been with us now for a few months, she was living at the bottom of owners stairs in a very small space. They stopped taking her out due to her reacting at everything, we were told that was her 2nd home and they couldn't cope.

Maxi was very fearful of people when she arrived at the kennels and we could only approach if she had a muzzle on. At that point she only trusted Matthew, as he looks after her in the kennels. She soon started to trust and enjoy her time playing in the off lead area, so much so she is making up for lost time and can at times go berserk when running about.

Maxi can still be shy with new people, but after a couple of meets she soon settles. She was very reactive with dogs, seems she's not been socialised. We've had her out walking with a small group of dogs and she eventually calmed down. She's been in the off lead area with one of our volunteers dogs and although muzzled at first she did eventually settle and muzzle was removed.

Maxi is only a young dog and is looking for an experienced home. She will need a confident handler, who will be able to continue her education and give her the life she deserves. Once you get to know her she loves nothing more than a cuddle.
