Mason - Doncaster

Update Auguist 2018 - Mason has bene adopted.

His owner says that 'Mason is the sweetest, most loving boy, eager to learn... Overall, an absolute sweetheart!'

So why does she want him to be rehomed?

Well, Mason is an untrained young dog from Romania. He has no malice, but no manners either. He needs to be given basic training and kept under close control in a secure environment. Sadly his present home is not that. It is a business premises and the house has open access to visitors who come daily for business and just walk in without knocking. Mason shows how much he loves his new family by doing his best to guard them and this dangerous behaviour will escalate in time. He needs to be subject to a sensible guarding protocol but that is not possible here, as all is open access. He would be very easy to train in any conventional home environment.

Mason has further blotted his copy book by chasing the resident cats. We think his prey drive is probably too high for him to be successfully trained in this respect. Otherwise he is good with other dogs, but he would rehome better in all probability with a bitch who could assist in helping him know his place in the hierarchy.

Unfortunately, Mason's home circumstances have allowed him too much freedom to run wild. Although his passport says five it is only a guess and we think that he is much younger. It is never a good idea to allow a baby to be the 'big man' and Mason needs to know his place.

Overall he is a lovely boy who is willing to learn, and relearn, about acceptable behaviour. In experienced hands he will become a credit to the breed.
