Maisie – Cambridgeshire

Maisie came to us in the most tragic circumstances. She has suffered an extreme case of pyometra and was rushed to the vets. She had lifesaving emergency surgery, but then her old family abandoned her, because they could not pay her vet bill. Fortunately, the vets continued to care for her and were prepared to surrender her to GSDR.

As you can see Maisie was terrified and depressed. She had had all the trauma of surgery and then abandonment. This poor girl was very low when she arrived at kennels. But, given time, good food, and the special brand of kennel TLC, she has grown more confident and cheerful by the day. She has never shown any sign of aggression and we can confirm that she is sweet natured and affectionate. She seems to be calm enough with the other dogs but that is not a thorough dog aggression test.

We will do more assessment. The summary from the kennels is 'Lovely girl, energetic, we have had no problems with her'. We can say with confidence that Maisie is now ready for another home. Will that be yours?
